FIND A REASON FOR COMMITTING TO SUCCESS

The desire for success has remained a dream for most people because they have never stopped to think of the reasons for wanting to be successful. Being able to clearly define and signpost your reasons for committing yourself to success in all that you do, is crucial to being able to hold on to the dream until it materialises; overcoming the challenges on the way and gathering the lessons learnt with thanksgiving; working to improve and build on success and advancing in the achievement of goals specified; ensuring that the journey remains meaningful although all the clues state otherwise; holding on to the dream as a tool for releasing all that is needed for each step of the journey.
I have desired to be successful as a blogger for a while but I have noticed that my commitment keeps waning. I think the reason for this continual loss of momentum, is the fact that Imy reasons for wanting to be a successful blogger are unhelpful. I have tried using the fact that I might be able to make money and become a millionaire as an incentive and motivator for burning the midnight oil, blogging. The problem with this is that my blogging is not making a penny at the moment. Invariably, if money is my sole goal, it does not surprise me that I cannot sustain the momentum required to blog continuously. I think it is time to find a better reason.
My new reason for blogging is to share what I have learnt about life along the way, with the world. I hope that someone will learn from my experience and so live successfully by achieving all their dreams as they apply the tools that I share; I also want to believe that as I accomplish this goal, there is a law that operates naturally to my benefit. Those who give to make others lives better also get enriched by the experience.
I think I do not need to focus on the fact that the goodness that I have shared will release enrichment but rather concentrate on making the lives of others better. What do you think of this idea?
The moment I stumbled on this new reason, the joy of blogging flooded my whole being again. I do not know how long this good feeling will last but I intend to enjoy it while it remains.
Please do not forget to include your comment after reading this blog. I am indebted to my readers for the comments that they share to help me as a blogger and an individual committed to personal development.
thanks for this everyone has seasons when they just feel the drag of blogging, myself included thanks for sharing. Regarding your post it may also be helpful for individuals to define what success is / looks like as well as defining why they want to be successful. I think its an inbuilt human desire to loved that drives people to prove to others that they can be successful.
maybe set a schedule and instead of writing then just clicking post when your done.
I have folders full of ideas but I also lack the motivation sometimes to type up things and hit post! thanks,
you’ve inspired me to come back from my break in blogging too!

Graeme
Also I keep misreading your title as opium! instead of Optimum!

keep up the good work
Hello Magdalene!
Always a pleasure to read your posts and always inspired by them.
As an online mentor, I do encourge people to just give good information and, the money will come in time. If you enjoy providing good information, people will know it and in return, this provides the trust that will cause them to buy.
Zig Zigler said “if you give enough people what they want, you’ll get what you want.”
It will work out for you Magdalene especially if you continue giving such quality information.

Good question? That is why I like your blogs, it actually makes one to stop and think. Why do I want to succeed or be successful? To be honest, it makes me feel good and that I have not wasted my time, energy and resources, above all it brings glory to God-my maker. This cuts across board whether in cleaning my house, doing exams or reaching out to someone. I like to stand back and see a finished project or something accomplished.
I have experienced failure in the past, seen time, energy and money wasted. It was not a nice experience but through it all it has made me to appreciate when I do succeed, I do not take it for granted and I am forever grateful to God how He has used all things to work together for my good.
I believe success is also relative, e.g. fiancially, some may only feel successful if they have a surplus of say 100K in their bank account, whilst to others, being able to pay their bills on time is being successful. It depends where we are on life’s journey.
So Magdalene, keep blogging, your life is touching people, you are a success and I appreciate you.
